Today I decided to sponsor a child from Armenia via World Vision. I have donated to World Vision many times in the past and I appreciate their good service. Armenia (pop. 3 million) is located southwest Asia, east of Turkey. It is the first nation to adopt Christianity. In 1998, there was an earthquake that destroyed part of the country. Housing is impaired and decaying. Apartments have bad sanitation and no heat when needed. The usual diet consists of bread, noodles, potatoes, beans, oil and greens. Fruit and meat are scarce.
The child, whom I chose by pic on the website, is Ani, an eleven year old girl. Her favorite subject in school is the national language and her favorite hobby is reading. She has 1 sister.
Sponsorship money doesn’t go directly to the sponsorship families, rather to the communities. WV projects in Ani’s community provide special care for malnourished children and improved living conditions. It will provide job opportunities and enterprise developments for parents. School classrooms and tuition will be provided for all sponsored children.
I look forward to sharing stories with Ani!
Here is what $72 got me (60 plus tip). For the first time ever, I brought pics to show the stylist. I was a bit nervous about it because I am sure stylists have had experiences where people brought in pics and wanted their hair "just like this". So I told her before I showed her the pics, I wasn't expecting it just like it, and asked her what she thought. I am pleased. Took her a good hour start to finished. She used tools I never new existed- like a feather-razer-comb o.O
What were the main household rules when you were growing up? What are the rules in your own house now?
Brought to you by the movie Georgia Rule.
If its yeller let it meddle, if it's brown flush it down.
In my house now we always flush because the water bill is included in the rent.
Jack is one hard liquor. For president's day, we took a trip down to Jack Daniel's Distillery. It was very cool to watch how they make whiskey. I remember when I was in elementary school, we took a school field trip to the distillery. My kid has never seen it, so it was a fun thing for us to do on his day off from school. Here are my favorite pics. Then we went to eat BBQ and for some reason I barfed in the middle of the restaurant. I don't know why either, the food was good. I wasn't drinking, the county JD is made is a dry county, they aren't allowed to sell the whiskey. Q.o

What was the worst job you ever had?
Submitted by salaryman.
When I was 18 I took a jon delivering phone books. I had to stock my car full of those heavy yellow phonebooks, I had a least a thousand phone books. I had roads I had been assigned and I was suppose to deliver them door to door. Being the summertime and in the south, I found it torture. I ended up throwing them out the car window and in people's driveways. I had my 1 year with me at the time, making all more miserable. He was always hot, and crying. I ended up having over 200 leftover phone books and didn't complete the job, but still got paid for it
